My First Post and My Word for 2024

Hi 2024,

Here I am starting a blog. Are they even a popular thing anymore?

Nevertheless, I feel this will help keep me accountable when it comes to updating my website. If you’re an OG fan and been following since the beginning, you know I can ramble a bit when it comes to stuff I’m passionate about. So what better place to put those musings and ramblings than here?

So to start. I’m one of those people that chooses a word for the year and also tries to plan out the entire year in my studio. The word for 2023 was BRAVE. I was a new mom with less time in the studio than ever. I was experiencing so many new things all at once. Anxiety and worry is (unfortunately) second nature to me so of course, I needed that courage. Courage that I was where I was supposed to be. And courage to be bold when it came to pursuing my art. I didn’t always follow through, but I also put myself out more than ever and because of that, I get to have some wonderful opportunities in 2024 (more on that later).

My word for 2024 is BOLD.

Bold - (of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous OR (of a color or design) having a strong or vivid appearance.

After some prayer and reflection, this word came to mind. Now. I realize it’s very similar to my previous word, but I realized this exactly what I need again. Turning 30 last year made me realize that I have a lot of dreams I want to accomplish. The only way I will even come close to realizing them is if I’m bold enough to pursue them, take risks, and be bold.

There’s already projects in the works that embrace this word. I can’t wait to share more with you (btw if you’re on the email list, you’ll be the first to know about these projects).
